Talk about Evil Origami! alto has revealed his new collaboration with DMS; Skelevex! The angular skull will be making its debut at ToyCon UK in April. I love the chipped tooth detail. Everyone has certainly seen their share of skulls but this one really stands out. dust has sent us some pictures of his latest canvas, Explodierende Koeperwesen. The dimensions for the acrylic and acrylic lacquer painting are 60CM X 80CM (approximately 2' X 2' 8"). dust has been pretty busy as of late, recently completing a new mural and preparing for an upcoming exhibit in May. Here's an eye-catching new riff on the Dunny from Chris Ryniak, whose 8-inch Meltdown Dunny from Kidrobot will launch on February 14 in four colors available from different sources. "Dunny went on holiday to Chernobyl, which turned out to be a bad idea," reads the Kidrobot announcement post. "[Glow in the dark] and semi-translucent, Meltdown Dunny is an 8 inch vinyl glowing ghost featuring dead eyes and what’s left of his pet fish."
Each version is limited to 600 units, but getting all four may require some significant effort. The Green colorway will be sold only at Kidrobot retail stores, while the Yellow edition can be found at Kidrobot.com. Meanwhile, the Pink one will be available at U.S. specialty toy stores, with the Orange one available in international shops. Each one is priced at $75 USD (£60 UK, €69.60 EU).
Flood the Art Market, an organization dedicated to help NYC artists who were affected by Hurricane Sandy, set up an auction at the Cristin Tierney Gallery in Chelsea on 1/28. 100% of the proceeds went to artists who lost tools, supplies, reference materials, spaces and work. The Sucklord created 3 awesome Chris Christie Hulk figures especially for the event. The Chris Christie Hulk figures sold individually with an extra package included for each figure to display the back. Sucklord also donated 6 of his figures that were divided into 3 lots.

Defiance is a new original science fiction property that comprises two very different but interconnected pieces: a weekly live-action SyFy channel series, along with a massively multiplayer online shooter for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The events of one will affect those of the other, with planned later seasons of the show expected to pull player-created characters from the game into its storylines.
The game's developer, Trion Worlds, today announced that Defiance will launch on all three platforms on April 2, in advance of the show's debut on April 15. Unlike many MMO titles, Defiance will not require a monthly subscription, however it does cost $60 for the standard edition of the game, with a $100 limited version adding in-game gear and boosts. GameStop also sells an exclusive Ultimate Edition that adds more goodies (both digital and physical) for $150.

Toy Art Gallery has some serious Kaiju going on beginning this Saturday, 2/2. PSUEDOMORPHISM is an exhibit that will feature new works from Blobpus, Paul Kaiju& Hawana as well as figures by Yamomark. The show pairs up the Japanese legend Blobpus with American heavy weight Paul Kaiju for "an explosion of customized vinyl figures and collaborative mash-ups". Coo-ool! Toys and characters like Blobpus, Diablo, Boss Carrion and Mockbat will be twisted, turned and mashed together for this show. The show will feature customs and paintings from Hanawa while Yamomark contributes his trademark kaijin toys that Blobpus has painted. I think the most anticipated part of this event is the debut of Vertebrata, the new vinyl collaboration by Blobpus & Paul Kaiju. In addition to over 100 customs PSUEDOMORPHISM will feature a new entry into Toy Art Gallery's Lifesize Fiberglass Series.
PSUEDOMORPHISM opens at Toy Art Gallery in Hollywood CA on 2/2 and will run through 2/23. Opening reception will be from 7PM - 10PM.
Boo-Hooray is presenting Larry Clark Stuff at Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in LA. The exhibit will feature film maker, author, artist Larry Clark's collection of skate decks and t-shirts of the 90s skate culture that highlighted the "guerrilla" graphic design of companies like Fuct & Supreme. Outfits and boards that were used in Larry's movie Wassup Rockers and Larry Clark Movie posters will also be featured in the exhibit. And yes, there will be portraits of Larry Clark wearing "genius/dubious vintage" Fuct t-shirts. I'm sure that will be the highlight of this most interesting exhibit.
Rare Larry Clark books, posters, skateboards and "ephemera" will be available for sale. These items include items that hasn't been seen by anybody before! How enticing! Limited editions of Larry Clark publications will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Stranger Factory, in Albuquerque New Mexico, opens three independent shows in one night. Empty World by DrilOne, Fore Tell by Limon and Long Dogs by Leecifer will show February 1st through the 24th. Leecifer sent us some great photos and a statement about his Long Dogs exhibit.
Long Dogs;
"Encountered as seemingly ordinary plants ad animals hinting at an impossible intellect or ancient wisdom. Seen from the corner of your eye, a flash of golden scales revealed to to be but a Tabby's fur, a serpentine shadow solidifies into one from a Wiener Dog, improbable wings on a frog. Sometimes, the glimpse becomes the knowing smile of a Boston Bulldog that, in passing, might have had catfish whiskers, or a turtle with too many heads. Or the sense that, even in times of harshest trial, there is a powerful presence shepherding and guiding you. This is teh gift of a long dog. The exhibits feature customs as well as new figures and will run through February 24th. Opening reception will be February 1st, 6-9 PM at Stranger Factory in Albuquerque, NM.

Friday, February 15th, Scott Tolleson will be releasing his latest painted colorway of the Deadbeet, "A Tokyo Strain". This version of the Deadbeet pays homage to the Tokyo colorway originally used by Bullmark back in the day. It’s yellow vinyl with green, black, silver and orange sprays limited to a run of 20 pieces and will retail for $70 a piece.
